The Vigilante Head, was designed by local illustrator & artist, Wences Almazan. Wences has been a great customer and friend to our cafe for many years. Always drawing and creating inside the cafes. We approached Wences with the idea of designing a logo together. We discussed the idea for a while, and he asked, "what should the character be inspired from" and this is what we told him, "The Vigilante character should embody the vibe of Vigilante Coffee. This character is a Vigilante following in the tradition of Batman but more like Rorschach from Watchmen." Two days later this design is what Wences had created. A perfect fit.
Notice the skateboard eyes within the design, representing our humble beginnings of delivering coffee by skateboard in DC to the restaurants and businesses that served our coffee.
