The Sierra Norte Blend is comprised of 80% Mexican coffee & 20% Sumatran coffee. The Mexican coffee hails from the village of Santo Domingo, Cacalotepec in Northern Oaxaca. This is a community coffee produced by 13 small scale producers (usually only producing about 3 sacks of coffee each year). The village of Santo Domingo is very remote, in the Sierra Norte of Oaxaca where they speak the indigenous language of Zapotec.
The vibe here is community & there is a harmonious energy amongst the people here. To add depth and more body to the cup character we added 20% Sumatran coffee. This is a different style of roasting than we’re known for, but one we think all the dark roast fans will really appreciate. This is your classic dark roast cup with notes of dark chocolate, nuts, and a toasty finish.
