Sometimes we save our favorite coffees for last. This is our 5th and final Peruivan coffee micro-lot from 2019. It's also the most complex & juicy of these micro-lots. This particular coffee won 4th place in the Amazonas State competition & is a Maragogipe vareity (aka the Elephant bean - called that because of its large size). It is easily one of the biggest coffee beans you'll ever see. This varietal of coffee tree grows a big bean but has a low yield overall. Additionally, it's susceptible to coffee leaf rust & coffee berry disease, two major factors impacting coffee farmers all over the world. So, why grow this risky variety? Well, because this particular Maragogipe strain is genetically sound & absolutely delicious. In the cup it's sweet, vibrant and vivacious. It's the kind of cup that will have you looking for one more sip!
